Every house needs a brass pre-filter to mark water quality. These filters remove particles like sand, dirt, and other contaminants that can cause serious harm to health.
They also protect the plumbing system from clogging. This saves your filtration system and keeps plumbing appliances working well for a long time.
Depending on the type of product, pre-filters have different micron ratings. These are the pores in the product that can catch particles as small as one millionth of a meter.
String Filters: These filter products have many wounded layers on a core. The tight layers trap large particles and prevent them from entering the mainstream. The outer layers work as the filtration center, and the inner layers work as a filter for smaller molecules.
Pleated Filters: These pre-filters come with large sheets that hold most of the waste particles. They contain a synthetic material, such as glass fiber, polyester, or PES.
These filters have a high micron rating, catching particles as small as 0.1 micron. They can withstand pressure, and they are easy to clean.
Before you can install a pre-filter, you will need to cut away some of the pipes. Use the template provided with your filtration system to mark the pipe where you will need to cut it. Make sure you cut enough so that it will fit the pre-filter and any connecting fittings.
